Dear Pastors,

My wife, Missy, and I are members of GBUMC (Pastor Pam Avery can vouch for us).
I have an idea that may interest you:

My only talent is computer programming, and I wonder if your facility has the
space to have a dedicated computer lab and classroom. I have been trying to
find a place to do so in Gulf Breeze, but our local churches and community
centers have very limited space for such things.

Also, I must warn you I started computing well before Windows came along, and
I now only have Linux computers, but I don't think that is a bad thing because
most of the serious computing is done on Linux anyway (e.g., Google, GitHub,
Amazon).

If you are interested, and have space, I would start with donating one Linux
laptop I have on hand for use by any person you will give access to. I will
also donate a PC and monitor which could run older versions of Windows or the
latest Linux. I am willing to donate a Windows laptop, too, but I am not
very experienced in multi-user access with them. (But I have used one for
many years at work and at home.)

I am particularly interested in giving computer access and training to
young people who may not have easy access at home and might enjoy having a
computer to use in a safe place. Adults and your men in the dorms may
also be interested in using the computer for online training and getting
local help with some related things.

I could help out in the lab several hours a week, but the schedule might
be variable due to other commitments. (Medical appointments and a rescue
dog are taking up more of our time as we are now very senior citizens.)

If nothing above is of interest, I will see if one of the Gulf Breeze
schools or the Pensacola Library is interested.

Blessings,

-Tom
